Some of those visiting this site may be aware that after 20 years in the U.S. market, the Maseur brand was purchased by a large corporation. Soon thereafter, the quality began to lag to the point that after 25 years as the importers, we called it quits.

What you see on this site is what is left on the North American continent of the Maseur product.

What remains of the original Maseur massage sandals is limited to size 3's. However, we have decided to release 4 pallets of a 2nd generation design of Maseur sandals that are available in all sizes in black and tan. NOTE THAT THESE 2nd Generation MASEURS ARE PRONE TO RAPID DETERIORATION OF NODULES IN THE PRESSURE POINTS.

Taking our 25 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in the massage footwear business, Australia Unlimited decided to use everything we have learned to make a sandal that was the sum total of everything we believed it should be. As a result, we spent the last 3 years developing a massage sandal that is superior to the Maseur in every way.

Improvements we have made:

-Widened the shoe

-Improved the gradation of the nodules

-Built the Old Friend using three separate pieces:

-A natural latex blend softer nodule

-An eva midsole that breaks down to allow softer strike area for the heel and breaks down to eventually custom form to the foot

-A thin rubbersole to maintain traction and prevent the curvature of the shoe during the breakdown of the mid sole

-Attractive secure straps that look and feel like leather but are totally washable

35 Years ago Gabriel Ebber first made the popular Maseur sandal in the Greek section of Sydney, Australia. If Gabby were still alive, we think he would look at our Old Friend as a big improvement on his brain child.
